FAQ
The questions UK parents actually ask about co-parenting apps
Six honest answers, in the order people ask them. Where Co-Parenting Harmony is not the right tool — court and evidence work, for example — this page says so rather than selling round it.
Can my ex see my personal calendar, work shifts and appointments?
Only what you choose to share. Every event you add is either shared or private. A private event is never shown in detail to the other household — it appears only as an anonymous “Busy” block so nobody double-books you, with no title, no location and no notes.
- Shared events (school pickups, handovers, holidays, activities) show in full to the adults in your family group, because those are the things both homes need.
- Private events (a work shift, a date, a medical appointment, a solicitor meeting) show as a plain “Busy” block with a start and end time only.
- You can change an event between shared and private at any time, and the other household sees the change immediately — there is no separate “approve” step for your own privacy.
- Nobody can see your location, your device, your messages or who else is in your private events. There is no tracking of any kind in Co-Parenting Harmony.
Does the other parent have to pay too?
No. One subscription covers the whole family group — both households, partners included. Whoever sets the family up subscribes, and everyone they invite joins on that plan at no extra cost.
- Every family starts with a free 14-day trial of the entire app. No card is needed to start it.
- There is no per-parent or per-household charge, and no separate fee for a new partner or step-parent to join.
- The other parent does not need to know anything about the billing, and they never see your payment details.
- If the subscription lapses, your data is not deleted — the shared calendar simply becomes read-only until a plan is active again.
Can I use it as evidence in court?
Co-Parenting Harmony is deliberately not a court or evidence product, and we make no tamper-proof or certified-record claims. It is an everyday coordination tool for families who want fewer logistics arguments.
- Entries can be edited and deleted by the people who created them, which is right for a working family calendar and wrong for a legal record.
- We do not offer certified transcripts, court-monitored messaging, professional or solicitor access, or an audit trail marketed as evidence.
- If your situation genuinely needs a monitored communication record, a product built specifically for high-conflict and court-supervised cases is the honest recommendation — and a mediator or solicitor is the right first call.
- You can still export your own calendar at any time for your own reference. That is a convenience, not a certification.
Will it actually reduce arguments?
It removes the two things most scheduling arguments are really about: nobody being sure what was agreed, and changes arriving as open-ended debates. One calendar is the source of truth, and every change is a structured proposal.
- If it is not on the shared calendar, it is not agreed — which ends most “I told you” disputes on its own.
- Swaps and changes are sent as proposals with specific dates and times. The other household can accept, decline, or suggest another time, in a couple of taps.
- An availability view shows when each household is free without exposing why, so a swap request lands on a time that can actually work.
- A family log records everyday updates and decisions in one place — a coordination record, not a court communication system.
- There is no chat, no calls and no message threads. That is intentional: the arguments usually happen in the thread.
Does it handle shift work and real custody patterns?
Yes. You can generate the common UK patterns — week on/week off, 2-2-3, alternating weekends and other 50/50 variations — and layer irregular work shifts on top without publishing your rota to the other household.
- The custody schedule generator builds a repeating pattern across the months you need, so you are not adding events one at a time.
- Shift workers can add rotating or irregular shifts as private events, so the other parent sees only that you are unavailable.
- The school holiday planner splits UK half-terms, Christmas and the summer break between two homes, including the alternating-years arrangements most families use.
- You can set your own preferred handover start and end times once, and the planner and calendar export both use that window.
- Shared expenses can be recorded and split between the adults as a running record. No money moves through the app.
Where is my data kept, and can I delete it?
Your data is kept in an access-controlled database, visible only to the adults in your own family group, and you can export or delete it whenever you want. Deleting your account removes your personal data.
- Access is enforced at the database level, per family group, not just hidden in the interface — another family cannot read your rows even in principle.
- You can export your family calendar to a standard calendar file at any time.
- You can ask for your account and personal data to be deleted; shared events that the other household still relies on are handled as described in the privacy policy.
- We do not sell your data, we do not advertise to you, and we do not use your family's information to train anything.
- The app works in any modern mobile or desktop browser and can be installed to your home screen, so there is nothing to wait for in an app store.

These pages go deeper on the two questions people follow up with most: which custody pattern to use, and how to keep changes calm between two homes.
